Apart from Fall, Halloween is also one of my favorite times of year. Might be because of my twisted mind that I love all things spooky….Horror books and movies and most of all Oct. 31.
Halloween wasn’t celebrated here in Denmark some years ago, but it has slowly been creeping up upon us and yay for that 😀 Love it. In my house we start decorating by the end of September or in the beginning of October and have the decor up until after my eldest son’s Birthday in the beginning of November. Then we decorate for Christmas and when that is over (mostly before or just after New Years Eve), we take down the Christmas decor and bring back the Halloween decor for my youngest son’s Birthday in mid January….PHEWWWW.
OK! So I’m always happy when a new Halloween bundle is released and thrilled when Dreaming Tree released the Monster Bash SVG Bundle. One of my favorites is the Skull Candle Holder :
I wanted my version to be a bit more sinister than Rons colorful version so I skipped the teal color and used LOTS of black AC cardstock along with POW glitter paper in grape, AC glitter paper in white, green vellum and a sheet of Graphic 45 paper “The Magic of Oz” with some great spider web on it. Unfortunately I’m not able to get the great life-like moving flame candle that Leo used but I had some color changing lights that I used instead and it works perfectly. I also embossed the panel on the bottom piece with a spider web embossing folder from Sizzix and inked the whole thing with a light grey ink pad from Prima. Isn’t it just awesome???
Here are some more pictures of the Candle Holder:
Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to leave a small comment ❤
…..SO needed in the dark days and nights ahead 🙂 Luckily Dreaming Tree’s got just what the doctor ordered: Pumpkin Patch Light Ups
Please excuse the picture….I just finished these and wanted to get a shot with and without flare and it’s the twilight hour 😉
For this project I used AC Cardstock in Melon, Apricot, Pine, Moss and Chocolate. I also used BoBunny’s paper collection Enchanted Harvest and Echo Park’s Dots and Stripes Autumn Gold Foil Dot. Finally I used some gold foil for the leaf stems.
As you might notice, I didn’t tape the light string like Leo did in his version. This is simply due to me not being able to get the right light strings. I did buy some orange ones in China….DON’T DO THAT!!!! First time I turned it on, it got so hot and bothered, it almost burst into flames…..So instead I found some safe but rather dull light strings from IKEA and tucked them under the pumpkins…..It works!
It amazes me how easy these pumpkins go together! Such an awesome design – Thanks Ron ❤ I used most time on getting hold of some light strings 😉
Oh….don’t want to cheat you for a picture of the light ups glowing in the dark:
Aren’t they pretty? ❤
And last but not least – a shot of the Harvest Moon last night. I’m pretty proud of the picture 😀
What says “Harvest” more than pumpkins and sunflowers??? And putting them together makes a fantastic table decor. I just spent most of two days making this beauty:
The pumpkin and the sunflowers are all from SVGCuts’ amazing kit: Harvest Sunset
I just couldn’t help myself – I needed to make this as a centerpiece for my dinner table. Though it may be a bit time consuming to make this, it’s actually pretty easy due to Mary’s fantastic instructions and I really think it looks very real.
I used AC cardstock in oranges/yellow colors along with brown and green. After seeing Janis Bertram DeGouff’s beutiful sequined Sunflower, I wanted to make something similar and found some sequins from Neat and Tangled. I also used Black and Gold Glass Glitter from Finnabair and some small glas beads in a bronze color. Finally I added a bit of raffia around the lid and the flowers. The pumpkin is inked with some brown and orange chalk inks from Prima.
Now I’m ready for some cozy fall dinners and hope my guests find this decor to be equally satisfying to the eye ❤
…when days become shorter and the nights longer – you’ll need some cozy laterns 🙂 Oh did I mention I love Fall???? 😉 It’s just the most gorgeous time of year and one of the things I look forward to, is lighting all my candles in the twilight. Nowadays my candles are LED and most of my candleholders are put away to make room for all the lovely lanterns I made of paper 🙂
And here is a new one to my growing collection: The Autumn Lantern from Dreaming Tree’s newest release Autumn Decor SVG Bundle
This gorgeous, rather large lantern is made of AC Cardstock in Chocolate, Rust and Coffee and decorated with papers from BoBunnys “Autumn Song” Love how easy it is to assemble and decorate. I found some raffia in my stash to tie around the finial with some small charms (its a fairy on a moon and a lacy leaf). I also loosely wrapped some raffia around the LED candle and finally decorated with a whole bunch of yellow pearls from my stash.
This lantern is a lovely addition to my fall decor – now to make up an occasion to invite some people over for a nice autumn dinner 😉
Thanks for stopping by – hope you like this lantern as much as I do ❤
I L.O.V.E fall! The colors, the crisp cool air, the blue sky – even the rainy, windy days (Mmmmm the coziness of the indoors with candles lit, curled up on the couch with your favorite book and hot cocoa ❤ )
Needless to say I fell in love with SVGCuts’s newest kit – Harvest Sunset. Such a useful and gorgeous kit – way to go, Mary!!! So after having a busy week with no time for crafting, this was the greatest way to spend my Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.
Last night I made the Bucket Bag:
As always I followed Mary’s tutorial video for the assembly and it went like a charm….no errors this time 😉 I found some BoBunny paper in my stash – Autumn Song (sadly a discontinued collection) I adore this paper and bought a lot of it on sale 😉 For the frame, I found a digital embellishment from BoBonnys collection Forever Fall and a quote from the Silhouette Online Store (#47367 by Kolette Hall) and welded them together. For the handle I used some wire and some raffia in a brown, yellow and sand color.
Then I made the Single Sunflower to put on the bag:
I used AC Cardstock and lots and lots of glitter, small beads and some chunky glass glitter and pop-dotted it onto the bag. Then I put some raffia loosely around the flower. This has to be my favorite paper sunflower ever!
Today I made the Coffee Pod Cart:
I’m totally surprised how easy this one is to assemble! And what a great gift to a hostess or a friend. I altered it slightly to hold Ferreo Rocher instead of the coffee pods (we haven’t got K-cups in Denmark). The paper I used is a mixture of BoBunny’s Autumn Song and Enchanted Harvest and the flag/banner on the handle is a print and cut from the digital collection Forever Fall. Finally I copied Mary’s idea with the raffia in the cart.
I don’t know about you, but I’m going to be busy making the rest of the items from the amazing kit. It is just so beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by and remember to leave a small greeting ❤
