Don’t Do This At Home Kids!…..

Luckily tiny things don’t take up much space – so after years of crafting I finally (well overdue) have come to the conclusion to make some of the fab structures and houses from my favorite designers in half size.

It is definitely not without problems to size down projects and with a few of the houses I’m about to show you, the structures came out somewhat crooked. But it’s a small price to pay and now I have room for show and storage 🙂

Starting off with the beautiful Church from the Silent Night Kit by SVGCuts:

The Church is made from AC Cardstock in White and Pine along with patterned paper from the Swedish company Maja Design (I Wish). The small bell is from Tim Holtz and I’ve inked all the edges with matching color chalk ink pads from Prima. The light is a string of LED lights found online. I also embossed the bell tower panels with a Sizzix embossing folder.

Next is the General Store from the Country Market Kit by SVGCuts:

For this tiny cutie I used AC Cardstock in White, Rouge, Sky and Blueberry along with patterned paper from Maja Design (Joyous Winterdays). I inked all the edges with chalk ink pads from Prima and decorated the small signs with Sprinkles from Doodlebug Design. This one also contains a small string of lights found online.

Then I made the gorgeous Winter Lodge from the Winter Lodge Kit by SVGCuts:

For this beauty I used AC Cardstock in White, Shadow and Coffee along with glitter and cobber paper. I also used Maja Design patterned papers (I Wish). The tiny shades I rubbed with cobber colored wax and the big window panel as well. I inked all the edges with chalk ink pads and added some cotton as chimney smoke. The top piece of the chimney was way to small to assemble so I left that out. I also made two tiny Christmas Trees for the planters (I used the “Take a Bough die from Concord & 9th.) and added to gems to the tiny lanterns to look like lights. The foundation panels are embossed with a embossing folder from Darice.

Next I made the Magnolia Manor from the Magnolia Manor Kit by SVGCuts:

This is by far the most difficult of the houses. It was very difficult to assemble the very tiny pieces when making it half size. So it’s crooked in lots of places. I think it would have been awesome as a Halloween house decor 😉

I used AC Cardstock in White and Shadow along with patterned paper from Maja Design (I Wish). I also used Cobber paper and glitter paper (snow) All the edges are inked with chalk ink pads from Prima and since the house is very detailed, I didn’t think it needed any more decorations.

Finally I made the Mistletoe Manor from the Mistletoe Manor Kit also by SVGCuts:

I must say that I think I got away with it somewhat better than the Magnolia Manor but the roof is still crooked.

I used AC Cardstock in White, Scarlet, Chocolate and Coffee along with patterned paper from Maja Design (I Wish). I also used White glitter paper for the snowy roof. All edges are inked with chalk ink pads from Prima. I made a tiny wreath for the door with a file from the Silhouette Design Store (design #69431) and added some small dots of Stickles Burgundy Glitter glue.

Pheww…..don’t do this at home kids! 😀

I’ve spent more than a week on the houses and I love ’em to death. Even hubby digs them (and that’s saying a lot from a guy living in a home FILLED with paper structures 😀 )

I did tear some hairs out on occasion and cursed and yelled when things didn’t go my way….but hey….what crafter doesn’t from time to time 😉

Thanks for stopping by and please go visit my FB page to see some small videos I made of the houses and the details – Go here

  1. Wow, I am impressed! I have purchased everyone of these files from SVGCUTS and haven’t assembled the first one. I don’t know why I am so intimidated. You have done a fantastic job! Working with those tiny pieces has to be tedious. I am so very proud of you!
