Horrible Cake

Halloween is sneaking up on us and will arrive before we know it…..so it’s best to be prepared and get those decorations done.

It’s my favorite time of year – Honestly – I think Halloween all year long. When I see a new kit or file, my first thought is: Can this be Halloweenified?

The files I’m using for the project I’m about to show you, could!

Imagine Morticia Adams in the kitchen, baking a Birthday cake. Wouldn’t be just any normal cake now, would it? Nahhhh I imagine it something like this:

A moldy cake with bloody filling topped with spiderwebs and naturally an axe to chop it up into fitting pieces. Served on a creepy stand with blood dripping down over the edge.

I know I have a vivid imagination, but I couldn’t help myself (again)

I used several Simply Crafty SVGs files for this one – namely the Cake Slice Box (downsized by 50%) , the Bloody Hatchet (downsized by 25%) and the all new Cake Plate/Display Stand (Made a bit bigger to fit the scale)

I used AC Cardstock in Black, Rouge, Chocolate, Melon and Leaf along with patterned paper from Authentique’s “Tricky” Collection and some grey Bling Bazzill Cardstock.

I also used a Swirly Embossing folder from Sizzix to emboss the panels on the foot of the stand.

The blood splatter on the stand is a design from the Silhouette Design Store (Design ID #97008) by Sophie Gallo.

The cake slices (I made 8 for a whole cake) opens up so you can put some treats inside. I was thinking about using this as place cards, where people just find their own name and sit where ever they want to 😉

All of this is so easy to make and decorate – just let your imagination run wild!

That was what I wanted to share with you today – stay tuned for more creepy, bloody Halloween decor as we get closer and closer to the scary but awesome Halloween.

  1. Only you could think like this, you are right you absolutely make the box as opposed to thinking outside the box. Every time I come to see your post, I never left without being super impressed. You seriously should sell them on Etsy! A beautiful cake and I love the axe.
