Come Away with Me

Happy Sunday and welcome back.

Ahhhh! – Now it’s Summer time and soon time for my annual Summer vacation. Something we treasure highly in my family as everyday can sometimes be a bit harsh due to all our challenges. So this time, once a year, we throw all our cares away, get on a plane and fly down south and this year we’ll be visiting Mallorca – the largest of the Balearic Islands, Spain. We’ve been there before but we do love this island, so we decided to go back.

The only thing I don’t look forward to is 14 days without my crafting……YIKES! Gotta smuggle something with me so I don’t go mad (Ehm….more mad 😀 )

Ok so with this in mind, I decided to make something with a travel theme and my eyes landed on the gorgeous Round Traveling Case from SVGAttic’s JGW Fashionably French kit. I’ve seen many versions of it made the last couple of months and wanted to make my own – and here it is:

DSC_0003

I used AC Cardstock in Vanilla, Chestnut and Coffee along with the delightful Graphic 45 paper “Come Away with Me” collection that seems just right for this project.

I also used some Cricut Faux Leather for the strap, metal colored dots as nail heads and a ball chain to hold the tag and a tiny metal key.

Then I dived into my huge stash of Prima flowers and found some that matched the paper real well along with a rhinestone swirl. Finally I also found some glass cabochons to decorate with.

Such a fun project to make and the suitcase goes together so easy but looks so amazing – don’t you think? Tell me in a comment.

Thanks for stopping by today – I really hope you like my version of the suitcase.

Breakfast at…..

…..Müllers 😀

Hiya – soo good of you to drop by today as I invite you to breakfast here at my house.

I’ll be serving the traditional feast of Bacon and Eggs along with some nice hot toasts and a cup of coffee. Sounds good? Well here we go:

Always coffee first:

DSC_0006

This is a cute coffee cup from Creatieve Papier Uitspattingen – a new (for me) place with SVG’s that I recently found.

I made the cup with AC Cardstock in Vanilla and decorated it with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s “Home Sweet Home”.

I filled a bag with coffee beans and put it in and if these were made of chocolate, it would be ready to give away as a small hostess gift.

Next is the food:

DSC_0008

This is also from Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen – except the bacon which I found in the Silhouette Design Store design #4747.

The egg is part of a freebie with a cute frying pan. I couldn’t get the pan assembled so instead I scaled up the saucer from above and turned it into a dinner plate.

It’s also made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla and decorated with Graphic 45 paper.

The Egg and bacon are also made from AC Cardstock in White, Melon, Brown Sugar, Chocolate and Caramel.

I inked the edges of the egg whites to make them look a bit fried 😉 Yummy

Finally we need the toats:

DSC_0010

Yeah….WOW…..it looks totally real! Find it here.

This toaster is made from AC Cardstock in Black and decorated with silver metal cardstock and a tiny enamel dot on the regulator.

The toasts are made from AC Cardstock in Brown Sugar and Caramel and inked heavily with a brown ink pad from Ingvild Bolme.

And here is the complete breakfast setting:

So I will see you later….I promise to serve you some hot coffee and not just the beans 😀

Thanks for stopping by today – I hope you enjoyed your meal and that you’ll come back to visit real soon ❤

50 shades of …..

RUST 😉

Hello – so glad you chose to visit my blog today 🙂

Just popping in with a small post, to show you the cute, fun and awesome not to mention vintage Pickup Truck from Simply Crafty Svgs, I made last night:

DSC_0007

This adorable pile of rust is made from AC Cardstock in Cranberry, Black and White and decorated with Silver Mercury Glass Cardstock from DCWV.

The headlights are two large gems from my stash that just fitted perfectly and the license plate is made using the Silhouette Sketch pen function with my Silhouette Cameo.

Here’s a rear view:

DSC_0010

The tail lights are also two gems from my stash. The back end is decorated with a panel embossed with a Cuttlebug Embossing folder.

And a sideview:

DSC_0011

To achieve the rusty look, I rubbed some Copper Metallique Wax on all edges and smudged on here and there too.

This truck is surprisingly easy to make – just follow along the great tutorial video Sandy of Simply Crafty Svgs made.

Such a truck needs loads of gas, so I had to make the  Vintage Gas Pump from Cre8tive Cutz too:

DSC_0003

For this I used AC Cardstock in Pomegranate, Black and Vanilla along with a dark grey Bling Cardstock from Bazzill. This too was smudged in Metallique Wax

DSC_0005

The hose is a piece of Hemp cord from my stash – I just love these small awesome details on the pump ❤

And here they are together:

DSC_0002

This was a really fun and easy project to make. The truck was a bit time consuming but it has the coolest details and I really encourage you to have a go! So much more easy than it looks. Just imagine this one for Autumn with pumpkins in the back or for Christmas – driving home with the tree 😉

Thanks for stopping by today – hope you enjoyed the pictures and that you are inspired to go make your own now 🙂

Fish for Father

Hello again – I’m so happy to see you 🙂

Today it’s all about Father’s Day and fishing. These two go together like horse and carriage in most families – just not in mine. I mean my Dad was fond of fishing but my hubby does not want to go anywhere near a pond or hold a pole in his hand (he’s so weird) Me, on the other hand, has a great love for fishing. It’s so relaxing and exciting at the same time and the quiet around the pond – ahhhh just love it. Only problem I have, is getting the fish off the hook. YUK! I cannot touch the darn thing or kill it. So that’s where I need hubby to tag along when we go fishing. My boys are just as screamish as me so that leaves – Dad/Hubby.

Well I guess I had my own Dad in mind when I decided on making this project. In remembrance of him and all the fishing trips we took in my childhood.

Well enough with the yapping – here comes the good stuff:

DSC_0025

Every fisherman (or woman) needs a good basket or Creel to hold the fish he or she catches, and the Fishing Creel 3D Box from SVGAttic’s JGW Gone Fishing kit is just the thing.

I made it from AC Cardstock in Latte, Caramel and Coffee along with some silver pearl paper.

I also used Prima Metallic Wax Rich Copper on the edges instead of ink for a fun effect.

The brads, holding the handle and latch, are from Tim Holtz and the latch strap is made of faux leather from Cricut.

One also needs a good tackle box and the JGW Gone Fishing kit has that too:

DSC_0027

It’s made from AC Cardstock in Mint, Robbin’s Egg and Fireberry and decorated with patterned paper from a really old collection by Cosmo Cricket “Snorkel” (just because I loved the fishies)

The edges are inked with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Ink, the brads are from Tim Holtz and so is the tiny tag with the fitting sentiment on it.

Both of these boxes were so easy to make. Just follow the instructions from Jodi here and here.

What’s a fisher with out a good hat?

DSC_0029

This cute Fisherman’s Bucket Hat Favor Box from SnapDragon Snippets is a necesity for the fisher as it holds several hooks, bobber, lure and fly and it can hold treats as well.

I made it from AC Cardstock in Olive, Robbin’s Egg, Black, Fireberry, Cranberry, Vanilla and Truffle along with patterned paper from another oldie by Cosmo Cricket “Mr Campy”.

I also used some sienna colored eyelets and some scrapper floss in tan and all the edges are inked with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Inks. The tag is one I made using the Print ‘n Cut function on my Silhouette Cameo.

This one is a bit more tricky to make but not difficult at all – just more parts to keep a hold of.

How about the Fisherman himself?:

DSC_0021

This good looking fellow is the Fisherman Canister from SVGAttics JGW Summer Canisters kit. He is made from AC Cardstock in Olive, Caramel, Mint, Coffee, Robin’s Egg, Peacock, White, Vanilla, Black, Fireberry, Cranberry, Rosebud, Blush, Latte and Leaf along with patterned paper from the “Mr Campy” collection and Tungsten Bling Cardstock from Bazzill.

I also used eyelets on the hat and scrapper floss to hang the bobber on his vest and all edges are inked with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Inks.

Super fun and super easy to make.

Finally, to top it all of, is a card:

DSC_0023

This card is also included in the JGW Gone Fishing kit from SVGAttic and is called “Fishing Vest Card”

I used AC Cardstock in Caramel, Truffle, Coffee, Cranberry, Fireberry, Black and Vanilla along with patterned paper from the “Mr Campy” collection and Tungsten Bling Cardstock from Bazzill.

I was lazy (in reality I’m just really horrible at sewing) and drew the stitches onto the vest instead of sewing them using my Silhouette Cameo sketch pen.

All edges are inked with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Inks and dots are from Prima.

Luckily I managed to get the Fishing Pole 3D Magnetic Toy done too:

DSC_0011

Originally I had all the other things done but then I saw Jodi had made this magnificent Fishing Pole and I just couldn’t bear it not being a part of this Father’s Day set. The most cool thing about this one is that it actually works….Even my teenager is impressed!!!

It’s made from AC Cardstock in Fireberry, Coffee, Black, Cranberry and Vanilla along with the patterned paper from the “Mr. Campy” collection. The grip overlay is made from Tungsten Bling Cardstock from Bazzil along with the outer most layer of the left and right wheel layer.

Check out the assembly tutorial here

The Bobber is made from two halves that I glued together and wrapped some black washi tape around the middle.

DSC_0011 - Kopi

This is a very fun project to make. I really love how Jodi’s head works and how she makes her ideas come to life. Such cool mechanisms.

There you have it – the whole chabang (minus the Fishing Pole):

DSC_0031

I’m pretty sure my Dad would have loved this set and I really hope that you do too. I think I have to go out and find a Dad, that loves fishing, and give him this set – know anybody?

Thanks for stopping by today. Father’s Day is celebrated in Denmark on June 5th which is also our Constitution Day so a few days ahead of the US. So Happy Fathers Day to you on the 17th of June.
