Time for Celebrating

Honestly – I had another plan for this blog post today – as it’s April Fools Day but it didn’t work out as planned and I don’t think anybody is really in the mood for pranks this year. So I made some pretty projects instead 🙂

April has always been a busy month in my family when it comes Birthdays or other celebrations so it’s always nice to have some cards ready.

I used to be very productive when it came to cards – always knowing a few days ahead who had a Birthday coming up, so I could mail a card but since the Postal system here in Denmark got screwed up, the postage is so high, that I can’t afford to do this anymore. It doesn’t matter cause nobody can be sure to get the card on time anyways.

So now I only make cards to accompany gifts and I like to personalize them, but it’s also great to have a few quick and easy cards ready….especially when you tend to forget the Birthdays now 😉

So I made some of Simply Crafty SVGs freebie cards to have on hand.

First of is the Layered Bunny Card:

Påske kort 1

This is such a cute card and very easy to make. I added a few extra layers as I wanted to make it in colors of the rainbow – but in pastels to fit the season.

I used AC Cardstock and a piece of black shiny paper for the face.

I accented the eyes and eggs with a white Sharpie Pen, wrote the sentiment with Sketch Pen and used a few Pop Dots on the label.

I used the cut out bunnies to make a matching Gift tag and added eyes, nose and a burlap butterfly.

Påske til og fra 1

Next is the Layered Cross Card: (freebie through April 5th.)

Konfirmationskort 2

This one will be brilliant for the upcoming Confirmations – though they seem to be held in Autumn this year to the Covid-19 Virus.

I used AC Cardstock i different shades of blue and for the top layer, I used an Embossed piece of Paper from DCWVs Stack Embossed White and inked the edges slightly.

Then I added the sentiment, which I wrote with a Sketch Pen, using Pop Dots for dimension.

I also made a Gift Tag from the cut out crosses and added some enamel dots, stickles and Glossy Accent for added interest.

Kors til og fra 2

Finally I made the Pitcher of Flowers Card:

Boks kort 3

This isn’t a freebie but if you hurry, it’s still on sale

I really love this card. It’s so beautiful with the beautiful flowers and leaves and the possibilities are endless when it comes to picking colors and papers.

I chose the gorgeous patterned paper from Graphic45s Nature Sketchbook and matching AC Cardstock.

I couldn’t find a red to match that of G45, so luckily I had the extra Pattern and Solids Pad that I used for one of the flowers.

I also added a bit of Stickles Glitter Glue to some of the berries.

Boks kort 2

As flower center I used some wooden dots from my stash. As you can see on the picture below, I only glued down the stem of the leaves in order for the leaves to be more dimensional.

Boks kort 1

Now I know this one is going to be a huge success and won’t be the last one I make for sure.

Now I’m a bit more prepared to the upcoming Celebrations here in April – I really hope I don’t forget them 😀

Thanks for joining me today – please, as always, leave a comment below.

Snowdrop Box Card

Here in Denmark, the first bringers of Spring is among Eranthis and Crocus the Snowdrop.

This little white bulb flower usually pops up from the dirt when the sun melts the snow (IF there’s been snow that is) like the other early Spring flowers, but this one really looks like a fairy dress to me. So delicate and beautiful – clearly my favorite!

vintergaekker-planteleksikon

As I was considering making the Orchid Box Card from Simply Crafty Svgs, I loaded the files into my Silhouette Software and started to organize the parts – as I usually do when starting a new project. That’s when I discovered it.

I noticed that I could bend one of the crown leaves of the Orchid and make it look like a Snowdrop and from there on my mind did it’s thing.

I started pulling on some of the edit point on the leaf to make the two outer parts a bit longer and more pointy. I also edited the small flower buds a bit to make the round end a bit more wavy. Finally I edited the flower stem + the one on the insert to remove the leaves.

Vintergæk box kort3

The leaves are also edited to be slimmer and longer as Snowdrop leaves are 🙂

Vintergæk box kort1

It makes more sense looking at the picture 😀

Adorable right? I doubled the stems – one of each side of the insert and doubled the flower as well to make it look more dimensional.

Then I just added the leaves to the insert and there it was 🙂

I used AC Cardstock and DCWV patterned paper from the Samantha Rose Stack. I really love the way the foiled paper looks like snow melting on dirt. For the edges I used Distress Ink. The sentiment on the card reads “Congratulations” and is made with the Print and Cut option.

Vintergæk box kort2

So now I have two options when making the Orchid/Snowdrop Box Card 🙂

Vintergæk box kort4

Let me know what you think in a comment below – I would really love to hear some opinions.

Thanks for dropping by today ❤

I wish…..

Ahhhh nothing like waking up in the morning, all is quiet and calm and after a few stretches, you quietly get out of bed – feeling refreshed and ready to take on a new and exciting day. It’s Summer….the Sun is shining from a cloudless blue sky and the birds are singing…..<3

BUT…..is this really happening?

Not in my house! Usually I wake and feel every tiny cell of my body aching and I’m as tired as an old Sloth (and moving at about the same pace as such). The house is in ruins after the kids stayed up late yet again during this Summer holiday and the kitchen is filled with dirty plates etc.

The only solution: Coffee and crafting and this happens:

DSC_0020

This awesome Latte Box Card from Simply Crafty Svgs, is the perfect way to craft your way out of the Summer Holiday blues.

Made with AC Cardstock in Latte, Caramel and Coffee (duh) and decorated with a coffee bean patterned paper + a sentiment made with the WRMK Foil Quill.

DSC_0021

I also used the quill on the coffee steam and finally I changed the pattern on the panels with coffee beans that I found in the Silhouette Design Store (design ID #55733 by Jennifer Wambach)

The envelop is made with a single sheet of the coffee patterned paper to match.

Thanks for joining me today – I bet a lot of you know what I’m talking about – let me know in a comment below.

I still wish this coffee was as big as my butt…..*SIGH*

The Year’s Last, Loveliest Smile

Hello and Happy Autumn Sunday

Now that Halloween is over, I can start to concentrate on other projects and feeling that I’ve neglected Fall a bit, I’ve decided to make a few more projects with the lush and wonderful colors.

First of I made the Barn 3D Model:

DSC_0004

I downsized it by 50% to match some of my other mini houses and left the roof unglued so I’m able to change the small LED candle inside.

It is made from AC Cardstock in Chestnut and Cranberry along with Bazzill Bling Cardstock in a light grey.

I also used some vellum behind the doors and windows and decorated with Prima flowers and different pearls and gems from my stash.

A totally adorable little fall barn and VERY easy to make – even this small.

I also made the Autumn Bouquet Card from the JGW Enchanted Autumn kit:

DSC_0012

I used AC Cardstock in Chocolate, Vanilla, Mustard, Rouge, Cranberry, Coffee, Plum, Abricot, Rust and Banana along with Bazzill Swiss Dot Cardstock in light yellow and patterned paper from Recollections’ “Autumn Dream”

I inked all the edges with Distress Ink in matching colors and used two screw-like brads to hold the tag.

DSC_0014

The sentiment I found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #23118 by Rivka Wilkins and used the Print and Cut function for it.

I really think what it says it true; Autumn really is the years last, loveliest smile 🙂

Thanks for joining me today – hope to see you again soon.

Tropical Paradise

……is where I just returned from two days ago.

Hello to you and Happy Sunday. I’m trying to rest from our fabulous Summer Vacation to the Balearic Islands in Spain – more specific Mallorca. Ahhhh it was fun and HOT.

I’ve tried to recreate the feeling in this project I’m about to show you. I’m starting to long back just looking at it – sigh.

First I made the Pineapple Box from SVGAttic’s JGW Tropical Haven kit:

DSC_0011

I used AC Cardstock in Lemon, Canary, Squash, Moss, Leaf and Pine and inked all the edges with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Ink. I also used 72 mini glitter brads for the scales.

Such a fun project but time consuming due to the scales on the Pineapple.

The Pineapple is a box and the lid lifts off and then…..

DSC_0009

…..it doubles as a drink – Mmmmmm Piña Colada.

The Parasol Straw Slider is part of the cute JGW Tiki Luau kit from SVGAttic and features two more cute sliders…..

DSC_0005

……the Sun and the Sea Turtle Straw Sliders. Cute aren’t they?

The 3D Coconut Drink is made from the same file as the Pineapple but I left out the top and the scales. Instead I embossed the panels with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and inked all with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Inks. The cardstock is AC in Cheastnut for coconut and Lemon, Goldfish, Moss and Leaf for the sliders. Both straws are from AC.

Next I made a pair of Flip-flops also from the JGW Tropical Haven kit:

DSC_0006

These are made from AC Cardstock in Fireberry, Goldfish, Moss and Lemon and decorated with patterned paper from Carta Bella “Summer Splash”.

All edges are inked with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Inks and the two red brads are from my ever growing stash.

The Flip-flops are also boxes so treats or gift cards can be placed inside. They are very easy to make.

No tropical paradise without flowers……

DSC_0014

……so I made the Lei from the JGW Tiki Luau kit.

I wanted it to be very colorful to match the awesome paper from Carta Bella, so I used AC Cardstock in Fireberry, Pool, Blossom, Lemon and Moss for it. I found some metallic colored beads in my stash to use as spacers.

This was the easiest of the all – just make the flowers and leaves and tread them onto the string – voila! Cool children’s project I would think.

Finally I made a card to go with rest of the things:

DSC_0008

This Stay Cool Tropical Box Card is also from the JGW Tropical Haven kit and is made from AC Cardstock in the same colors as the rest of the project and decorated with the patterned paper from Carta Bella.

I get so many withdrawals just looking at it.

And here you have the whole set:

DSC_0004

Yes – I cheated and made the whole thing in advance – come on…..nobody makes this much in two days. Ehm…..almost nobody…..hmmmm I kinda did. Oh well…..I’m a nut 😉

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my creations as much as I did and that you got a bit of a feel of Tropical Paradise.

Be a Unicorn

I am ashamed! Very ashamed of myself. Because I didn’t send a good friend of mine something for her Birthday last week. It was in my calendar but I’ve been so busy getting ready to go on vacation, that I didn’t have time to make her anything and of that I am ashamed.

So better late than never, I’m going to send her this Unicorn Rainbow 3D Box Card….

DSC_0004

….cause I know she loves unicorns as much as I do and this will put a smile on her face and maybe….just maybe….she’ll forgive me for being so late.

I made the darling card with AC Cardstock in various colors to match the Graphic 45 paper (Fairy Dust) that I used and then I sprinkled some fairy dust in dots here and there for magic and good luck.

DSC_0006

DSC_0008

The sentiment says Congratulations in Danish and it’s written on the Magical Layered Banner

DSC_0010

It’s a very fun card to make and it won’t be my last 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today – please feel free to leave a comment to yell at me or just to tell me if you like the card 😉

The Wild West

We all know that finding something to make for a guy’s Birthday is tough. Usually most of the kits and files out there are cute, feminin or for kids. But Mary from SVGCuts just made it a whole lot easier crafting something cool for a man – with the amazing Wildflower Saloon Kit. I couldn’t keep myself from making most of the parts of the kit because it is just da bomb!!!

So first I made the Whiskey Barrel:

DSC_0010

I made mine in AC Cardstock in Caramel and Black and embossed all the panels with Darice Woodgrain Embossing folder. Then I inked all with different shades of brown ink pads from Prima Ingvild Bolme. On the rings I have rubbed Prima Metallique Wax in Rich Copper, Brushed Iron and Aged Brass and added some Tim Holtz brads.

Don’t be intimidated by the barrel – it is very easy to make!

Next I made the Cowboy Hat:

DSC_0013

This is downsized to 75% in order to keep the size ratio with the barrel. I made mine from AC Cardstock in Chestnut and tied some hemp cord around the top.

This is actually a box and it is so easy to make. I had it done in no time 🙂

Then there’s the Rustic Lantern:

DSC_0008

This amazing design is also downsized to 75% and is made from AC Cardstock in Coffee and some Vellum. All of the pieces are rubbed with Prima Metallique Wax in Bronze Age, Rich Copper and Aged Brass.

I can’t get the Darice light here in Denmark, so I put in a 20 piece LED sting of lights inside instead. Works just as well 🙂

This one is a bit more challenging to make (especially if you downsize it) but it’s nothing you can’t handle 🙂 Just takes a bit more time and Mary has a wonderful tutorial video for you to follow 🙂

Next I made a pair of Cowboy Boots – these are NOT from the Wildflower Saloon Kit but from an older kit called Happy Trails:

DSC_0015

The boots are also downsized to 75% and I used AC Cardstock in Chestnut and Coffee along with some silver pearl paper. I used a Damask patterned embossing folder from Cuttlebug on the panels and a Leopard Print embossing folder, also from Cuttlebug, on the inside panels. Then I used some Tim Holtz brads on the backstraps and top straps and inked the embossing with some dark brown Prima chalk ink.

Finally I made the adorable Trunk of Wildflowers Box Card:

DSC_0017

For the card I used AC Cardstock in Chestnut, Mint, Oregano, Moss, Rosebud, Vanilla, Melon, and Canary along with patterned paper from Graphic45s French Country. I also used some copper colored pearl paper for the hardware. On the handles I used Tim Holtz brads and on the hardware I used some copper colored brads I found in my stash.

I also decorated the flowers with different pearls and gems from my stash and inked all the edges with Prima Chalk ink (Ingvild Bolme).

This card looks difficult but it isn’t. Just follow the instructions on the PDF or watch Marys tutorial.

And here it is – in all its glory 😀 Yee Haw!

DSC_0006

I want to thank you for joining me today – it was so much fun to put these things together and I really hope you’ll make some of your own ❤

Yuletide Greetings

Hello again 🙂 So nice of you to come back again 🙂

Today I’m going to show you the cards I made for the gift bags and presents I made for my girlfriends.

Really I had stopped making Christmas cards since it’s so difficult to send and waaay to expensive, but since I gave the bags away last Friday at my Birthday party, I thought it only fitting to have a card along with the presents.

And I just had to make these cards! I’m talking about SVGCuts’ Yuletide Box Cards. I fell in love with these instantly and how awesome is it that they are so easy and fast to make.

First of the Star Box Card:

DSC_0006

It’s made from White AC Cardstock and decorated with White Glitter cardstock from Best Creation and Gold Foil. I simply added a small star gem in the middle – it really didn’t need anything else.

Then there’s the Nativity Box Card:

DSC_0008

This is made from White AC Cardstock and decorated with gold foil and gold glitter paper along with patterned paper from Dovecraft “Time to Sparkle”

On to the Gingerbread House Box Card:

DSC_0010

This cutie is made from AC Cardstock in Chocolate and decorated with White Glitter Paper from Best Creation and different dots the colored ones from Doodlebug Design. Oh it’s so yummy 😛

Next is the Rooftops Box Card:

DSC_0014

This card is made from White, Black and Banana AC Cardstock and decorated with patterned paper from Dovecraft “Time to Sparkle” I also painted on some Stickles Glitter glue to make it look frosty 🙂

Finally I made the Amaryllis Box Card (my favorite)

DSC_0012

This card is made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla, Rouge, Crimson, Pine and Spinach and decorated with patterned paper from Dovecraft “Time to Sparkle” and gold foil. I added some small dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower centers.

I really hope the girls are happy with the small gift I made for them. I just didn’t feel like leaving them out of the joy of giving ❤

Thanks for stopping by and I really hope you too enjoyed the projects I made and that it gave you some inspiration for making your own presents.

Come Rain or Come Shine……

…..from the Soundtrack of the Danish Summer. It has pretty much been the crappiest summer in history, but as I see it, not everything has been bad. The temperature has been very pleasant with a minimum of hot humid days and the sun has been know to shine on occasion 😀

This weather inspired me to make this Birthday card to a girlfriend of mine whose Birthday is here in August. It could easily have been made for a spring Birthday but that’s just my point – we have practically no seasons anymore. It’s either Spring or Fall – no more Summer or Winter.

untitled

The cute card is designed by Cyndy Gustashaw and is part of her Box Cards 2 Kit.

I used AC Cardstock in Lipgloss, Cricket, Robin’s Egg, Melon, Daffodil, Chestnut, Black and Bayou along with patterned paper from Doodlebug Design – Spring Time and Wood Grain patterned paper also from AC.

I inked all the edges with inkpads from Prima and used a white Silhouette Sketch Pen to write the sentiment (it says Congratulations in Danish) on the sign post.

Thanks for stopping by – hope you love the card as much as I do 🙂

Fathers Day…..

….it’s today here in Denmark and usually I would have made or bought a special gift for my “hubby” from his boys but this year I didn’t! I think it’s only fair, since all I got for Mothers Day was a cup of coffee on board a ferry going home from a wedding. So I made him this:

DSC_0003

This To-Go-Coffee Box Card is part of an all new kit from SVGCuts: Pit Shop Box Cards and it features 5 new box cards just right for Fathers Day.

For the Coffee card I used AC Cardstock in Vanilla, Latté and Coffee along with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s Enchanted Forest. The logo on the front is found here (I used only the logo) The steam is made from vellum and I used some small wooden dots as embellishment.

So now he’s gotten the same thing in return – a cuppa coffee LOL…. I don’t get mad….I get even 😀

I also made the Side of Fries Box Card:

DSC_0007

For this I used AC Cardstock in Crimson, Sunflower, White and Black and inked the edges of the fries with an orange ink pad for dimension. I also pinched the fries a bit. On the label it reads: “Congratulations” –  in case I use it for a birthday instead and I used some small dots from Simple Stories as embellishment. A very easy card to make but lots of fun.

Then I made the Pizza Box Card:

DSC_0009

This too is very easy to assemble and I used Kraft Cardstock along with AC Cardstock in Butter, Cranberry, Oregano, Latte and Chestnut. I also used some patterned Graphic 45 paper from “On the Boardwalk” and dotted the pepperoni with a white sharpie. The banner reads “Congratulations” since it would work perfectly for a male birthday 😉

Moving on to one of the more difficult cards in the kit – The Vintage Gas Pump Box Card:

DSC_0005

For this card I used AC Cardstock in Oregano, Cranberry, White, Vanilla and black along with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s “A Proper Gentleman” and “Mercury Glass Cardstock” from DCWV.  I embossed the side panels with a folder from Sizzix and made two embellishments with my Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool – the small one I glued into a small Vintage Trinket from Prima. I also added a small green pearl brad and a small Game-Spinner from Idea-ology. Then I made the hose from a length of cotton ribbon from my stash. The label reads: Happy Fathers Day 🙂

This card was so much fun to make and to search for embellishments and paper to use ❤

Finally I made the Taco Truck Box Card:

DSC_0001

This is also a little more tricky card to make – I have some pieces left over and I know I made some mistakes here and there but all in all I’m cool with it.

For this card I used AC Cardstock in Oregano, Apricot, Scarlet, Black, Dandelion, Cranberry, Limeanade, Vanilla and Chestnut along with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s “Bohemian Bazaar.” I also used silver foiled paper and vellum and dotted the small taco with a thin black liner. The labels I made from print and cut and files found in the Silhouette Design Store here and here. Last but not least I used some small dots from Simple Stories as tomatoes in the taco and as tail- and headlights on the truck.

All in all this was so much fun to put together – took me little over a day to make all the cards and I got to use some of my old but cherished paper. Now I have cards ready for lots of occasions like Fathers Day and male (or female) celebrations.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to leave a small comment for me ❤
