The Latest Buzz

The Sun has been out most of the day today but I’ve been a buzzzzy bee 😉

Last week, Sandy of Simply Crafty Svgs, released a new darling collection with a Bee theme and I just had to make some of the items from it 🙂

Bees are darn right cute and adorable – especially the cartoony ones 😉 They are also extremely important for our environment. Sadly they are about to go extinct due to poisons released by humans on crops. But that is a whole other story….not a pleasant one 😦

Let’s stick to the adorable cute bees, buzzing happily around from flower to flower, gathering pollen to make yummy Honey.

First of is the darling Bee Hive:

This Royal Bee home is made from AC Cardstock in Butter, Coffee, Blush, Spearmint, Melon and Chestnut.

I used a Sizzix Honeycomb embossing folder on the panels and decorated with patterned paper from DCWV Samantha Rose. I also used some Rose Gold Glitter paper for the flower stamens as well as the little crown (found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #10713 by Alaa’K) on the bee’s head. All edges are inked with Distress Ink in matching colors as well as highlighting the Honeycomb pattern.

Furthermore I used some wood patterned paper from the same DCWV stack on the base of the Hive.

Now to wait for darkness so I can see it lit up by a LED candle 🙂

It’s a bit of a time consuming project but it’s so worth it and if you’re making more than one, you’ll get the hang of it and be done a lot quicker. Especially the little bee takes some time but GOSH she is so adorable ❤

I used ordinary vellum for the wings and embossed them with a Cuttlebug Twig patterned embossing folder and for her eyes I used some tiny black enamel dots from my stash.

Next up is the Honey Jar:

Following the same colors as before, this is made in AC Cardstock Butter, Spearmint and Latte.

I decorated with the same DCWV stack – Samantha Rose – and used the same embossing folder on the yellow panels as well as the same Distress Ink.

Furthermore I used my Foil Quill to write “Honey” on the label using Rose Gold Foil from Couture Creations and tied a hemp cord around the jar.

Finally I added three tiny enamel dots on the lid.

This one is a lot faster to make and is very easy – and what a pretty jar to give away as a hostess gift or as gift wrapping 🙂

Here’s the Hive and Jar together:

That was it for me today – now to relax a tiny bit before bedtime – I’ve have been quite buzy 😉

Thanks for visiting. I do hope you’ll leave me a small comment below – I really love the feedback ❤

From the Sea

It’s been a rainy day today. All day. Hasn’t stopped yet.

I don’t mind because that means I don’t have to feel guilty to lock myself in my craft room and do what I enjoy the most…..paper crafting.

I made something I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time and I had just the perfect paper for it.

This Sailboat – Zeilboot is from the Dutch webshop Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen and is not only a boat but also a box.

It’s very easy to make (there’s a picture tutorial enclosed in the file), weighs practically nothing and isn’t too large.

I made mine from AC Cardstock in Turf and White along with patterned paper from DCWV “Costal” and some pearl paper. I inked the edges with Distress Ink in a brown color.

I decorated with a few Prima flowers and some Prima gems + pearls.

She is a thing of beauty and is ready to sail out into the world – wonder where she’ll go?

When deciding on which of the papers in the stack I would use, I was inspired by one of the pictures on the front of the stack – had to do this!

This is the Crate from the Caramel Apple Pie kit by SVG Cuts. Just perfect for all those beach tresures you find in Summer.

It’s made from AC Cardstock in White and more papers from the “Costal” stack.

I inked all edges with Distress ink in a brown nuance and embossed the rectangular side panels with a wood grain embossing folder from Darice.

I also cut out some words from the stack and adhered them onto the front with pop dots.

Finally I decorated the crate with a few flowers and gems from Prima and added some small “nail heads” to the side planks and the wording.

Although you can’t really tell from the picture, this gorgeous beach themed paper from DCWV has several sheets with pearl accents and it’s so beautiful. Used some on the sides of the crate and also on the inside front and back pieces.

It’s still raining outside – will properbly continue all night. I didn’t get my steps in either. I don’t care. I spent my day making a Summery project so I had lots of sunshine in my room 🙂 Don’t they just look perfect together?

Simply Colorful

It’s no secret that I love colors – the more the better. I really wish I could wear the rainbow (no litterally 😀 ) but unfortunately not all colors look good on a pale Scandinavian woman (girl! – I meant girl! 😀 ) like me.

I just have to surround myself with colors instead – hence the colorful projects I’ve made over time 😉

When I decided to make the Simple Elegance Lantern from Simply Crafty Svgs, I did have another theme in mind.

I’ve been hoarding DCWV stacks lately and I wanted to make the lantern as a beach/sea theme and had the perfect papers picked out but then it hit me…..

….the Kaleidoscope paper from Graphic 45 ❤

And so be it:

What a color explosion! I really really love this paper and the lantern kinda looks a bit like it’s wearing a Witch’s hat 😀

The lantern itself is made of Black AC Cardstock and decorated with the Kaleidoscope paper. It it very easy to make – I did it without the tutorial this time.

All edges are inked with Distress Ink in coordinating colors and I found some matching flowers and gems from Prima in my stash.

A cool and bit wacky lantern but I really dig it.

It’s also very cool at night with some colored lights inside:
