Fabulous at 50

Thursday my friend turned 50 and tonight we’re celebrating her. Wow – 50 already! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ (I’m naturally YEARS away from that – still a kitten of 29 ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

This fabulous lady loves her shoes, bags and (like me) Rock Music ๐Ÿ™‚ So how to combine these into a present?

First I found the items I wanted to make. SVGCuts is one of my favorite go-to places and she didn’t disapoint ๐Ÿ™‚ Then I found the paper – all perfect together. And what more perfect than a 50’s theme for at 50th Birthday????

Ok – first of is theย Stylish Handbag from theย  Brunch Party SVG Kit:

I used AC Cardstock in Black and Robin’s Egg and decorated with papers from Authentique’s “Fabulous” Collection along with glitter paper in teal, glossy paper in black and gold foiled cardstock.

I inked all the edges with Distress Ink in matching colors and added a few cut outs from the paper kit to the tags, that I attached with a ball chain and decorated with an fluffy embellishment from my stash.

I made the bag in 75% and it’s perfect for holding my gift for my friend.

I also made her a card and my choice fell on the “Party Card – 33” and the sleeve from the “Happy Birthday Card – 45” from the Rockin and Rollin SVG Kit:

This is made from AC Cardstock in Black and Vanilla and decorated with the same papers as the bag except the sleeve which is made from paper from the “Dapper” Collection also by Authentique.

I decorated the sleeve with a few stickers from the kit and some flowers from Prima plus a few coordinating enamel dots.

The Envelope is made from the “Fabulous” paper.

Now I’m really excited to see her reaction to this present – I mean – that is one bag she doesn’t have in her HUGE collection ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cheers

The Spring months of March, April and May are Birthday months among our Family and friends – so they are busy months for me ๐Ÿ™‚ And I don’t mind ๐Ÿ™‚

I love creating stuff for others and especially if I can give the things I’m making a personal touch. Something special for the recipient ๐Ÿ™‚

This Sunday we celebrate my hubby and besides the love for Pokรฉmon hunting and football/soccer, he loves beer. So what more natural than to make a beer themed Birthday present for him ๐Ÿ˜€

I started out with the Beer Growler from Simply Crafty Svgs:

This large container is made from AC Cardstock in Chocolate and decorated with gold foiled paper and a print and cut label I threw together.

I am very surprised how easy this growler was to make and it’s huge! No worrying about if the gift will fit inside – it will ๐Ÿ˜€

Then I made theย Beer Glas also from Simply Crafty Svgs:

This perfectly shaped, yummy, foaming beer glas is made from AC Cardstock in Canary, Sunflower and Vanilla.

I used two different Cuttlebug embossing folders with bubbles – one with big bubbles for the foam lid and one with small random bubbles for the glas panels.

I also inked the panels on both the lid and the glas with Distress Ink in Dried Marigold.

This glas is also rather large, very easy to make and will fit part of his present too.

Now all that’s left to do is buy the presents and wrap everything in cellophane (maybe)

โ€ฆ…will be back real soon with another Birthday project ๐Ÿ˜‰

Explosion of Impressions

Last month my Mom turned 70 and as you can guess I wanted to make something special for her.

What do you make for a 70-year-old that doesn’t take up space (as she recently moved to a small apartment) but is still something that she can remember getting on this special day?

I decided on theย Hexagon Explosion Box from Simply Crafty SVGs:

First of I want to say, that if I have to go into details, this post is going to be waaaay to long, so I put a video at the end of the post so you can see all the goodies.

The box is made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla, Cranberry, Leaf, Kraft and Wave and decorated with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s “Times Nouveau” Collection.

I decorated the lid with several Prima flowers, Vinyl, enamel dots and different trinkets from my stash.

Taking the lid of reveals the Explosion of Impressions:

All the layers are decorated inside and outside and the follow pictures show a bit of it:

I made some of the panels into small pockets for the tags to fit in and wrote some details about my Mom on them. I also used the Silhouette Sketch pens to draw parts of lacing patterns on the tags as it’s on of her favorite crafts.

On the pockets I also drew crafting motifs all found in the Silhouette Design Store.

On the largest layer, I added some quotes and saying that I found in the Silhouette Design Store – all about crafting. Well the box theme is crafting actually ๐Ÿ˜€

On the smallest layer I added small labels on which I wrote a greeting from me, my Sister and the rest of our families.

I put the present inside the box in the middle and decorated the lid with knitting needles and a piece of knit also from the Silhouette Design Store. I also decorated with more vinyl lacing pattern and some gems.
