Summer Party

With Summer’s lovely warm weather, comes the time for garden or pool parties. It’s so much fun to make decorations for such – coming up with new ways to set the table etc.

So I thought that the fun and cute little boxes from Simply Crafty Svgs‘ Surf ‘n Swim Box Set would be perfect decorations on the table and as they are tall, they’re perfects for cutlery:

Fun fact: When wanting to find cutlery for this picture, I used half a day to search for wooden cutlery as they are more eco-friendly than the plastic ones. And what do I do? Spoil all the eco-friendly-ness by decorating with plastic straws – so sorry for that 😀

Let’s start off with the Swim Suit Box:

I used AC Cardstock in Black, Taffy, Apricot, Lemon, Goldfish and Moss along with patterned paper from DCWV’s “Electric Jungle” Stack.

The cute Hibiscus flowers is found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #62344 (by Amy Robison) and the leaves are design ID #1696 (by Silhouette)

And voila – one box down 🙂 (and the Tucan looks like he flew away or lost his colors – darn shiny paper)

Next is the Board Shorts Box:

Here I used AC Cardstock in Taffy, Lemon, White and Moss and the patterned paper is from the same DCWV Stack.

Cute right? And so easy!

Finally the Surf Board Box:

This is properbly the most tricky one of the three even though none of them are hard to make.

I used AC Cardstock in White, Apricot, Surf and Turf. The patterned paper is still the same from DCWV 😉 but I also used some sand patterned paper from another DCWV Stack – Coastal.

I also used an Embossing folder with a rind pattern. Not sure what brand it is – sorry.

Now these are just waiting for the party to begin 🙂

Are you having an outdoor party this summer? If so – what theme? Tell me all about it in a comment below.

Vacation Time

Yay! It’s finally Summer and in just a little while, my Family and I are going on our annual Summer Holiday.

I can’t wait! We’re off to Croatia this year and that means we MUST go to Dubrovnik to see where they shot “The Red Keep” in Game of Thrones.” Yes – we are all GOT nerds 😀

We’re staying at a Campsite/Resort in Istria but in a “luxury” Mobilhome (yeah not having the best of luck on those but we’re trying it one more time).

I’ve always loved camping and went several times a year as a child, as my Grandparents had a trailer residence on a campsite near the German border.

But don’t get me started on those stories – I tend to ramble 😉

This whole Vacation thing is the reason I decided to make THIS project with files from Simply Crafty SVGs:

I started out with the Teardrop Trailer Box made from AC Cardstock in Key Lime, Pool, Black, and Taffy and decorated with patterned paper from DCWV “Bahama Mama”

All edges are inked with Distress ink in matching colors and the flamingo (Silhouette Design Store ID #75285 by Echo Park) foiled with the WRMK Foil Quill  – the foil is from Couture Creations.  It’s kinda hard to see, but the paper also has foil dots in the same pink color.

This trailer is very easy to make, but be sure to follow the instructions! I didn’t at first and had to make it all over again.

The trailer doesn’t get around on it’s own so I had to make a car. And what better than the little cutie freebie Treatmobile:

DSC_0007

This little darling actually looks a bit like my own car (Fiat 500C) and it’s made from AC Cardstock in Taffy and Black and decorated with the same DCWV paper.

I also made two surf boards to fit inside the car (somebody is headed for the Beach it seems) They are from the Surfer’s Paradise Card and both are made with AC Cardstock in Lemon, Pool, Taffy, Apricot and Butter.

Finally I made the Raft from the Pool Box (see the first picture) I made it from AC Cardstock in Lemon and inked it with Distress ink.

It fits perfectly inside the Trailer and now this family is ready to head off on Vacation – and so is mine 😉

Thanks for visiting today – please leave a comment below. Maybe you’ve been to Croatia and have ideas for what to see???? I’d love to hear all about it.

Until next time – Happy Crafting and remember to enjoy some time outside the craftroom too 😉
