So Long….Farewell

Hello 🙂

This post is a copy of the one from the SVG Attic Blog – a post to say goodbye to the team and to SVG Attic which sadly are closing the store. I am NOT stopping blogging or paper crafting 🙂 Just so you know.

Unfortunately every good thing must come to an end and being part of the SVG Attic Inspirational Team has definitely been a very good thing for me. I have really enjoyed making projects almost weekly (as I have a somewhat problem by controlling myself), coming up with new ways to put the files together or simply remaking some of the gorgeous files that flowed from the designers.

It is very sad to say goodbye to this, to my team mates – my “family” but I know we’ll keep connected somehow and I’m thrilled to have learned that the files get to live on in the Silhouette Design Store.

I did make one final project – so I can drive off in style:

 I have wanted to make this truck for so long and just needed the right occasion – well it is now.

It’s downsized by 50% so it’s pretty small and it’s make from AC Cardstock in Pine, Black, Vanilla and Latte along with Silver Metallic Paper from Tim Holtz.

The tiny nails are made from drops of Enamel Accent by Ranger and I used Distress Ink on all the edges and for the faux woodgrain on the rail.

I also added some gems on the front and back lights.

Instead of adding a pumpkin or tree in the back of the truck, I made some tiny suitcases (from the SDS Paris Voyage kit) These are downsized to 33% to fit the scale.

They are made of AC Cardstock in Robin’s Egg, Cranberry, Denim and Chocolate and decorated with gold pearl paper. I used Enamel Accent as nails also on these.

I chose to use a vers from the Goodbye song in “The Sound of Music” because it just fits perfectly and put it in the suitcase tag.

Now I can drive towards the sunset and think about a happy time on the Inspirational Team – trying to figure out what to do now. I will still be making SVG Attic stuff – that is for sure!

Fit For A Princess

Let me brighten up your Monday today, with a little cute project I made last week. (before the Flu/Snot Monster came and claimed my soul)

For a while I’ve been secretly in love with the cute Vintage Vanity Case from Simply Crafty SVGs and combined with my favorite paper brand – Graphic 45 – what can go wrong?

I chose the Princess collection for the case – rather fitting, don’t you think? The main case is made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla.

It’s very easy to make – even in this downsized version (75%) and would make a lovely gift for a little girl or maybe a not-so-little-girl 😉

I decorated the case with Rose Gold Metallic paper from Tim Holtz and added small dots of  Nuvo Glitter Crystal Drops as “nails”.

All edges are inked with Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs) from Tim Holtz.

Finally I added some small Prima roses on the lid along with a few leaves and a tiny metal key and called it a day. Pretty cute if I may say so myself.

Lighthouse Island

Today I want to share a little project I made for my living room.

Lately I’ve been downsizing practically everything I make, due to lack of storage space but also for the fun and challenge of working with something so small.

This time I wanted to make the Lighthouse and the Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters from the Seaside kit by SVGCuts in 50% of the originals. I also wanted to make the cute little rowboat (minus the box) from the Picnic In The Park kit.

So I began and things just evolved…….

The Lighthouse:

This is made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla and Gold Fish and decorated with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s Sunkissed Collection.

I embossed the middle panels with a Cottage stone-patterned embossing folder from Crafters Companion and tied a hemp cord around the base.

I also added some Prima flowers in matching colors and a tiny seahorse bead.

On top I added a ball chain with small metal sea shells and inside the tower I put a tiny LED light (not so visible in daylight but powerful at night). I also added a LED light inside the Lighthouse.

The Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters:

This tiny house is made from AC Cardstock in Denim, Ocean, Vanilla and Carrot and decorated with Graphic 45 “Sunkissed”.

The door is embossed with a woodgrain-patterned embossing folder from Crafters Companion and the door knob is a small green enamel dot from my stash. I also added three other dots on the roof for a little fun effect.

The roof is embossed with a fish scale embossing folder – seriously can’t remember from where I got it – sorry!

I wanted to make a small stone path down to the dock so I used some small plastic pellets and glued them onto the base.

I also decorated with a tiny metal key, a small starfish and a metal flower – all from my pretty large stash.

Here’s view from above – just look at that cool roof!

The Rowboat:

This one I made in 33% of the original so it’s very tiny!

I used AC Cardstock in Ocean, Denim, Carrot and Vanilla and decorated with “Sunkissed” paper.

I also found a tiny metal lantern for the boat so it can be seen in the dark 😉

The Anchor is made from Bazzill Bling Cardstock in Tungsten and I glued 6 pieces together to make it look heavy and sturdy.

Finally I made a path from the Lighthouse to the Quarters by gluing some Frosted Mica flakes from Finnabair onto the base.

I also decorated with more Prima flowers, a Compass from Ideaology and a few trinkets.

And here’s the entire project in one picture:

I got the cliff base from a Iglo file from Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen and I think it works just fine even though it’s meant to be an ice shelf.

It’s made from AC Cardstock in Charcoal, Concrete and Leaf and is kept in the original size.

If I was to make it again, I would design some small support boxes to put inside each box as it tends to sink a bit in the middle.

My vision: ……..LOL 😀

(the video is made on my phone with a special app – the light in the top of the Lighthouse does unfortunately not spin like that. It’s only a special effect)

Coffee…Coffee…COFFEE!!!

Ever felt that craving, the need – the MUST HAVE?

For coffee that is 😉 Oh dearies – I feel it everyday! And I especially felt it when seeing that awesome Percolator that Sandy of Simply Crafty SVGs put in her store last fall.

I have seen many editions of the Percolator made and each and everyone made me thirst for my favorite drink. So I decided that while sipping a Café Latte, I would make my own.

I chose to make it realistic but tiny (due to lack of storage space). So it’s downsized to 50% of the original.

It’s made from AC Cardstock in Charcoal and Black and decorated with Silhouette Printable Foil in Silver.

And it’s very tiny – only a bit taller than a Stickles glue 😉

I found the tag in a 6×6 paper pad from Echo Park – “Coffee” Collection – it just fit so well. Another could be: I’ll take my coffee black as my soul 😀

So easy and fun to make – still thinking of other ways to make it and might be doing so in the future. I’m a coffee addict – there I said it!

Faux Wood Luminaries with Snowflakes

I seriously can’t think of a more beautiful thing than a snowflake. Perfect in every way and all different from each other.

This was my inspiration when making the new Snowflake 3D Luminary Tote Box from SVG Attic.

I made three – all with a different snowflake:

They are made in AC Cardstock Light Kraft and decorated with AC Dark Kraft and Chestnut. The handles are made from Bazzill Bling Cardstock in Tungsten.

I downsized them by 50%.

The one in the middle is the original one, the left snowflake is found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #36347 and the right snowflake is also from the Silhouette Design Store design ID #22593 – both a tiny bit altered.

These are tiny! I couldn’t fit a normal size LED tealight into them, so I went with the color-shifting ones. It goes without saying that the handle was a challenge in this size 😉
