New Blog

Due to WordPress being so expensive, I have made a new blog. I couldn’t unfortunately not move the content from this blog to the new one so this will have to die in peace but rest assured that I still have all the pictures and will feature them every now and then.

New blog is here: https://mycreativehideout.blogspot.com/

Hope to see you there ❤

UPS……

Settled more or less in my new home….YAY!

The only downside is that my gall bladder is acting up again and I’ve been in and out of the hospital the last 5 days. They want to remove a stone that is located in the deep bile ducts via a ERCP but so far it’s been cancelled two times due to more pressing patients. So going back again tomorrow, fasting, to see if it’s my turn now. *SIGH* Annoying health.

Well enough about that – the reason I’m posting is to show you my latest creation – miniature creation – from Simply Crafty SVGs: The Delivery Truck:

Billede 09.07.2020 09.51.22

This little guy (50%) is made from AC Cardstock along with Metallic Kraft Paper in Silver from Tim Holtz and gold vinyl for the text.

All edges are inked with Distress Ink and I added some small gems for head and tail lights.

As you can see it’s pretty small – that’s an AA size battery :-O

As always very easy to make and assemble and I had my fun by translating UPS into: Unlimited Paper Supply (a girl can dream!)

Never got as far as to fill stacks of paper inside the truck because of the move and all but it’s now part of a growing collection of Mini Mobiles I want to make and display in my craft section of the living room 😉

Here it is on it’s way to deliver me lots of paper:

Hope you’re enjoying summer. We haven’t had much this year but as usual when school starts, summer begins 😉 I just wanna get healthy so I can sip smoothies and Ice coffee on my terrace while the kids are in school 😉

Time to Move

I know. It’s only been a year since I moved but here we go again. This just wasn’t the right spot for us but we hope we’ve found it now and get to stay for years to come.

I was going to have this post ready for my usual spot on the first Wednesday of the month but *SIGH* ….. I had to go to the hospital due to a infected Gall bladder.  The pain started at 4.45 am Monday and by 6.30-7.00 am I was admitted. Been pumped hard with antibiotics and there was even talk about surgery but it never happend. Instead I now have to wait two months for a control meating and decide weather I want the bladder removed in a risk surgery or live my life with occasional gall stone attacks. Geeee….what do you want? Plaque or Cholera? Anyways….I’m home, pain free and still on antibiotics and today is the day I want to post 🙂

This little project is made on inspiration of the move 🙂

Billede 04i

The darling Vintage Flatbed Truck from Simply Crafty Svgs is downsized by 50%

I used AC Cardstock in Charcoal, Cranberry and Caramel along with Silver Metallic Kraft paper from Tim Holtz.

All edges are inked with distress Ink in matching colors and for the Flatbed I used a wood grain ebossing folder. I added panels on the inside too.

Billede 04e

Finally I used various gems as head and tail lights and adhered the front bumper with a few foam squares.

Billede 04f

Billede 04c

For the load on the truck, I used the cute Moving Box  freebie that I had Sandy of Simply Crafty Svgs design for me after Danish standards.

I downsized it to 25% of the original (very very small) and made 6 in total.

Billede 04h

Then I added two chairs and a table I found in the Silhouette Design Store (design ID #26460 designed by Jennifer Wambach and design ID #26461 also by Jennifer Wambach)

These are also downsized to 25 % of the originals and tied to the boxes with some hemp cord.

Billede 04g

I had several other ideas for truck loads – like this cute crate with apples made from a Silhouette Design Store fil ID #66549 by Lori Whitlock.

Billede 04a

Again this is extremely downsized and the apples are made from small wooden beads.

Billede 04b

I used a Cricut Marker to draw small nail heads onto it and the panels are embossed both on the inside and the outside and inked with Distress Ink.

Billede 04d

This little darling is going to stay with me and remind me of this moving. It was so much fun to make this small.

Thanks so much for stopping by – please do leave me a small comment below and to all you US visitor – Happy 4th. of July

Quick Little Gift Box

A little while back my Aunt turned 70 and my Mom wanted to give her a personal gift. Not something material but more like an adventure gift (not sure this is the right term) so she got her a couple of Cinema tickets for her and her daughter and a gift card for snacks. This way they can spend a cozy evening together.

My Sister asked me if I would print the tickets out so she could give them to my Mom but I thought I would do something on the side too

So I made a little gift box for them using the Small Ink Pad Holder from Simply Crafty SVGs:

Billede 01a

Looks kinda like ever other Gift Box but the size was perfect for the tickets and I really love the drawer opening. Only thing I changed was leaving out the ink holder part of the box.

Billede 01c

I used AC cardstock and patterned paper from Graphic45’s Vintage Hollywood Collection. What more perfect for a giftbox containing Movie Tickets? And the Movie Theater where they are going, is an old fashioned one so win win 🙂

Billede 01b

I felt the box was a bit naked so I made the bow from the Decagon Gift Box also from Simply Crafty SVGs and added a little matching resin rose in the middle.

So much fun when one design can be used for something completely different than the original intent.

Thanks for joining me today. Going towards a busy time/month now as I’m moving again and need to pack up everything and still keep sane….Yup good luck with that Helle! 😀

If you like this project I really would like for you to leave me a comment – otherwise I won’t know you’ve been here 😉

To Fine-Tune

……actually I don’t know if this is the right word for what I’m about to write about but it’s what the dictionary suggested to me 😉

Soon – actually already this Friday June 5th. – it’s Father’s Day here in Denmark. I usually make a little fun project for the Father of my boys and this year will be no different.

While thinking about what to make this year, an older Danish comedian show popped into my head – something that Dan and I used to laugh much about and I would use it every time Dan would go into this male mode – the Fine-Tuning mode or Fine Thinking mode. The state where men lock them selves into their inner man cave, to think about something important (for them at least 😉 ) This could, according to this comedian, be practiced while sawing into a particleboard – making a shelf or birdhouse or anything less complicated. Simply time for the man himself and when he finally finishes and hangs up the shelf or whatever, he expect to be complimented and be petted on the chin as recognition of this work well done. Actually he think he deserves this recognition every time he’s done any work – ESPECIALLY work for the wife 😀

Long story short – I know the joke is lost in translation – I made the Tool Caddy from Simply Crafty Svgs and filled it with two Beers made from the Soda Can also from Simply Crafty Svgs:

Billede 01d

I used AC Cardstock, patterned paper from Craft Consortium with Metal Textures and print and cut-outs.

For the handle and the label, I used a 3D embossing folder with woodgrain texture from Tim Holtz and all edges are inked with Distress Ink.

I really love how realistic I got these beers to look 🙂

Billede 01g

Tuborg is a Danish Beer Brand owned by Carlsberg and this Classic variation is Dan’s favorite so off course it had to be those. Even though we’re not together anymore, I still make stuff for him from the kids.

This ingenious can is box so the bottom slides off and an actual beer can could be stored inside but I think I will settle for something lighter.

Billede 01f

So now the Caddy is all ready to be carried out into the work shed/garage with a couple of beers to make the fine-tuning/fine-thinking a little easier 😉

Billede 01e

Happy Father’s Day to all Dads out there and thank you very much for joining me on my blog today.

What happens if……

…..you want to make a cake for your Sister who’s turning 49 and insist that there be 49 candles on the cake?

I tell you what happens…..the darn thing catches on fire! 😀 49 candles on a cake – even on a layered cake – is a heck of a lot 😀

Luckily this is only a paper cake…..

Ok….the fire isn’t real either 😀

Phew! 😉

IMG_6546

This is the new Topsy Turvy Cake from Simply Crafty Svgs totally covered with the 49 candles. I used the candles from the Birthday Cake and downsized them to 75% of the original. The candle on top is #49 and is in original size 😉

IMG_6543

49 candles is a LOT of assembling 😉

I used AC cardstock in bright rainbow colors and patterned paper from DCWV’s Rainbow Splash Stack. I LOVE color….can you tell?

IMG_6547

I also made flames in different sizes and color to put here and there on the cake. I found it in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #2830 by Silhouette.

I also found the fun little Stick Figures in there design ID #29027 by Snapdragon Snippets and these help tell a little funny story about the fire 😉 These are cut from black Pearl Paper.

IMG_6553

This little guy is trying to out run the flames…..

IMG_6551

….while this one is trying to help his buddy who’s hanging on for dear life.

IMG_6550

Here is one hanging on a candle while his friend lost his grib and has fallen off the cake plate….poor little guy 😦

IMG_6548

These guys are working hard on trying to put out the fire but the fire extinguisher (from the Light the Candles Card also by Simply Crafty Svgs) is way to large for them so they have to climb up to reach the handle – one is already there and another one is trying with the help of his friend. They have it going cause one little dude is blown away by the foam spray and one candle is almost put out. One little guy is not so lucky because he’s hanging off the side of the cake with his head on fire 😮

IMG_6541

I saw that these guys needed help so I made a fire truck to come and hose down the fire. I found this in the Silhouette Design Store as well design ID #62496 also by Snapdragon Snippets. I down sized it to 50% and as you can see, it’s tiny! But the ladder is working…..

IMG_6554

…..and soon help is on the way as one guy is operating the truck while his co-worker is running off the ladder to help all the guys in need.

Unfortunently they forgot their firehose and the truck has caught on fire 😮

Good thing is only paper….right? Imagine what 49 real candles can do? 😮

Happy 49th Birthday Sis (when the day comes) Now you know what coming to you 😉

Thanks for joining me today. What do you think of my crazy project? I mean….who makes 49 candles???? Please let me know in a comment below

Birthday Cake

In April through September, there’s usually a lot of Birthdays…..more than in the rest of the months of the year. Why that is….well….you can figure out for yourself 😉

It’s no different in my Family so deciding on making the adorable Birthday Cake from Simply Crafty SVGs was a very easy choice.

The hardest was picking out paper – it always is 😀 This time I picked some Stacks from DCWV – “Watercolor Ombre” and “Unicorns and Rainbows.”

DSC_0005

The bottom piece is made from Tonic Studios “Holo Waves” and the cake is decorated with several Prima Flowers.

This first one I made didn’t turn out exactly like I wanted it to, so I made it into a hat instead 😉

Lagkage hat

I glued the lid shut so it doesn’t fall of when wearing it and used some clear elastic thread so it will stay in place on top of your head – my head in this case 😉

The next cake was more to my satisfaction and I decorated it with lots of small Prima roses and made the Display Stand also from Simply Crafty SVGs, for it to stand on.

DSC_0008

Mmmmmm good enough to eat. And yes it is a box but I didn’t have any yummys to put inside this time (I properbly ate them) 😀

Here’s a close-up

DSC_0009

This will be perfect to give away, hiding a gift to some of all those who’s Birthday is soon coming up.

Wishing Ewe….

Today I’m back with a little wooly project that fits all kinds of celebrations.

The digi stamp I used this time, is sponsored by:

proud sponsorBugaboo

With Mother’s Day coming up and lots of Birthdays etc. I thought it fitting to make a little box that can hold a chocolate bar. Who doesn’t love to receive chocolate?
My choice fell on the 3D Mummy Candy Box designed by Jamie Cripps (Silhouette Design Store design ID #68840) but only the box itself, so I stripped it of all the unnecessary parts and added a panel with the darling digi stamp Wishing Ewe.
The background on the panel is also one I found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #22287 by Rivka Wilkins.
DSC_0001

I colored in the stamp with Promarkers along with a grey Sharpie, a glittery Gelly Roll and a white Sharpie for the eye highlights.

I also added a few enamels dots for a little something extra.

Then I put the chocolate bare inside…..

….and it’s ready to be given away to someone special.

Thanks for joining me today ❤

Mom’s Le Chef

One thing I didn’t sign up for when becoming a mom, was the constant questions: What’s for dinner? When’s dinner? Or having to cook more than more meal cause the kids can’t eat the same food – *SIGH* Bet I’m not the only one.

It doesn’t help when cooking is my least favorite thing to do. I really wish I could hire someone to do it for me 😀 Like my sister for instance. She used to be a Chef and is making the most delicious and healthy food.

This dilemma is what inspired this Simply Crafty SVGs project – the Chef Hat:

Kokkehue

This hat is actually a box and I did make it as such. It will come in handy if I give it away. Right now it’s sitting on a kitchen shelf for a bit of amusement 😉

I made it from AC Cardstock and used the Print and Cut feature in my Silhouette software to make the text on the panel. This is one I found in the Silhouette Design Store ID #139760 by Sophie Gallo.

I bet we’re going to get a kick out of it 😀

Thanks for joining me today 🙂 What do think of this project? Let me know in a comment below and remember to come back real soon!

The Secret Lives of the Cracked Chick

Ok so I had a lot of fun with the Cracked Chick from Simply Crafty Svgs even though I was only going to make a few for my Easter decorations. My vivid imagination took over and went insane. Not only did I make some funny Chicks but I had to make some funny pictures as well. They just might be manipulated a tiny bit 😉 oh and all chicks are downsized by 50%. No animals were harmed in the process 😉

My original idea was to make the chick in a few cute versions and one of them was a little girlie Chick. Just hatched and the remaining shell lying right beside her:

IMG_634611_InPixio_InPixio

Ok so she’s a bit cross eyed and properbly not your typical little cute Easter Chick but she loves colors and wanted to pose in a pile of feathers.

The bottom shell piece is made by enlarging the shell hat of the Chick and making it a bit longer. It’s just for show.

I used an embossing folder from Darice with a cracked pattern – perfect for a cracked egg shell.

I used a white sharpie to make reflexes in her eyes and nose and the flower is one I happened to have in my stash.

That’s when things got a bit out of hand. 😀

I noticed that the Sailor Hat from SCS would fit if downsized to the right measurement and if the Chick was a sailor, he would need a boat sooooo:

IMG_634711_InPixio

…he got a boat. Made from the Fishing Boat Box, I created a sail boat by adding a pole, sail and flag. These are found in the Silhouette Design Store ID #100976 by Snapdragon Snippets and ID #61978 by Carta Bella.

I used a wood grain patterned embossing folder for the panels and sanded them slightly to make the pattern show more. Then I added a net and some starfish from my stash along with the lifesaver and oars with comes with the Fishing Boat Box file.

Now he’s a happy little sailing Sailor Chick 😀

One of my original ideas was to used the Chef Hat also from SCS to make a Chef Chick but that didn’t work out as planned. The hat was too large for the chick but the top part of the hat fit and making the chick in brown like made out of chocolate…..

IMG_634911_InPixio

…. I had my very own Aladdin Chick on a Magic Carpet.

The Top part looks exactly like a Turban and the carpet I made for him, is found in the Silhouette Design Store (design ID #85512 by Studio Ilustrado) I just added a panel on top and bend it a bit here and there for the flying look. I used patterned paper from DCWV’s Luxe Lodge Stack.

Then I added a feather and a gem to the Turban and Aladdin was ready to fly.

So once again my imagination got to run wild and I’ve had a very fun evening and morning making these cuties.

Let me know in a comment below if you like these wacky chicks and I wish you a Happy Easter – thanks for visiting
